Surah Ash Shura Ayat 87 Tafseer

Para 19 - وَ قَالَ الَّذِیْنَ

بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِیْمِ

26.87-89

وَ لَا تُخْزِنِیْ یَوْمَ یُبْعَثُوْنَۙ (87) یَوْمَ لَا یَنْفَعُ مَالٌ وَّ لَا بَنُوْنَۙ (88) اِلَّا مَنْ اَتَى اللّٰهَ بِقَلْبٍ سَلِیْمٍﭤ(89)

Kanz ul Iman Kanz ul Irfan

English translation of Kanz-ul-Imaan

'And do not cause me to be disgraced on the Day when everyone will be raised.' 'The Day when neither wealth will benefit nor sons.' 'Except the one who wholeheartedly presented himself with a pure heart in the Majestic Court of Allah.'

Commentary

This supplication contains the fear of Allah Almighty and a lesson to the people, so that the people try to save themselves from the humiliation of Judgement Day and supplicate in the court of the Almighty too.

The wealth that the disbelievers and the polytheists spend on righteous works, and their children will not benefit them on the Day of Judgement. However, the wealth that a Muslim spends in the way of Allah Almighty and his righteous children will benefit him on the Day of Judgement, and the Almighty, out of His Grace, will reward the Muslim for his charitable donations. It is stated in a Hadith, “When a person dies, all of his actions come to an end, save three: 1. Ongoing charity; 2. Knowledge which people benefit from; 3. Righteous offspring who supplicate for him.” (Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim: 14
